Requirements by Angular Version
Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Node.js version does Angular 22 need?
- Angular 22 supports Node.js ^22.22.3 || ^24.15.0 || ^26.0.0. Node 24 LTS is the safest choice. Node 20 is no longer supported from Angular 22.
- Which TypeScript version does Angular 22 need?
- Angular 22 needs TypeScript >=6.0.0 <6.1.0, so install TypeScript 6.0. Each Angular minor release can widen the range, so check the row for your exact minor version.
- Can I use an odd-numbered Node.js release such as 23 or 25?
- Angular only lists even-numbered Node.js lines, which become long-term support (LTS) releases. The Angular CLI warns about odd-numbered releases and refuses to start on a Node.js version below its minimum.
- Why does the checker say "depends on the exact release"?
- Some ranges start partway through a Node.js line, for example ^22.22.3 for Angular 22. If you enter only "22", some 22.x releases fit and older ones do not. Enter the full output of node -v for a definite answer.
- How do I make my whole team use the right Node.js version?
- Add an .nvmrc file with the Node.js major version for nvm users, set "engines" in package.json to the supported range, and add engine-strict=true to .npmrc so npm install fails on an unsupported Node.js version.
